Luminary #33 | The Devotion issue S/S 2027

A Global Colour Forecast Publication for Creative Strategy & Future Colour Direction.

Two years ahead forecast, looking towards Spring Summer 2027 and beyond.

INTRODUCING ISSUE 33: DEVOTION

Reconnection. Joy. Endurance.

In an era defined by acceleration, Devotion invites design leaders to pause — to return to what is sacred, sensory, and slow. Luminary Colour’s 33rd issue explores the enduring emotional impact of colour through the lens of ritual, memory, and deep material presence.

This is not colour for trend’s sake — this is narrative-led, culturally grounded colour and material direction designed to inspire meaningful creative strategies across industries.

THE STORYTELLING BEHIND ISSUE 33: DEVOTION

“Certain colours act like a magnetic force, completely taking us over and drawing us inwards…”

Rooted in a poetic journey from Hydra in Greece to Mumbai India; Devotion weaves a visual story of colour, craft, and resonance. This issue traces a deeply personal journey through colour — part pilgrimage, part poetic archive, Luminary reflects how emotional connection and cultural ritual shape the colour needs of the future.

  1. WORSHIP – golden yellow dyes from discarded temple marigolds in Mumbai

  2. HYDRA – an island in Greece inspires sea to sky blue-greens

  3. SACRED – “Pink is the navy blue of India” Diana Vreeland

  4. SANCTUARY – light-filled poetic colours and dream-like biomaterials

  5. GROUNDED – verdant, lush greens from the marketplace in Goa

  6. MUSE –painterly colours from the artist’s studio and Charleston House
